Our Projects

The Raising Women Global Awards is an ongoing flagship project created by Raising Women Initiative to celebrate, amplify, and honour women making meaningful impact across different sectors, as well as men who actively support and advance women’s growth. The initiative was born out of the need to move beyond conversations about women’s empowerment and intentionally recognize those who are driving real change in their communities and industries. Too often, women’s contributions go unseen, undocumented, or undervalued, particularly at grassroots and emerging leadership levels. Through this awards project, RWI is creating a global platform that centers visibility, appreciation, and collective recognition.
The SAVEHER Emergency Helpline was created in response to the alarming rise in violence against women and girls in Nigeria and across Africa, and the lack of immediate, trusted support systems for survivors in crisis. Many women and girls experiencing sexual violence, domestic abuse, trafficking, or exploitation are unable to access help due to stigma, fear, or the absence of coordinated emergency response services. Raising Women Initiative launched the SAVEHER Helpline to bridge this gap by providing a toll-free, 24/7 support line where women and girls can seek immediate assistance.
On October 18, 2025, Raising Women Initiative held the Raising Girls Webinar to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child and to advance its mission of empowering adolescent girls across Nigeria. Many young girls face challenges in confidence, leadership, and mental resilience, compounded by societal pressures and limited access to supportive networks. The webinar brought together global and local experts, including Olivia Darby, Michelle Ukachukwu, and Sofia Alpízar, to provide practical guidance on self-worth, financial literacy, and well-being. Participants explored how to build confidence, navigate social pressures, and develop skills for personal and professional growth.
In August 2025, Raising Women Initiative launched a Sexual Harassment Awareness Campaign in Wuse Market, Abuja, to address the widespread but often misunderstood issue of harassment in public spaces. Studies indicate that many women experience harassment yet remain silent due to stigma, fear of retaliation, and misconceptions about the causes of harassment. RWI carried out this campaign to educate the community, challenge harmful narratives, and encourage conversations on rights and prevention.
In February 2025, Raising Women Initiative conducted an outreach program targeting disabled communities, aiming to provide inclusive education and empowerment around worth, wealth, and well-being. People with disabilities often face systemic barriers, social exclusion, and limited access to opportunities for personal development. RWI carried out this project to create awareness, provide resources, and foster an environment where individuals could build confidence and learn practical skills for life improvement. The outreach included interactive sessions, discussions, and resource distribution, ensuring accessibility for all participants.
In February 2025, Raising Women Initiative hosted a webinar to launch its yearly agenda on The Woman: Her Worth, Wealth, and Wellbeing, aiming to provide women with tools and insights for holistic growth. The initiative was informed by the reality that many women lack access to practical knowledge on financial empowerment, mental wellness, and personal development, often due to systemic and societal limitations. Through expert-led discussions, the webinar created a safe and engaging space for learning, reflection, and dialogue.
