On October 18, 2025, Raising Women Initiative held the Raising Girls Webinar to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child and to advance its mission of empowering adolescent girls across Nigeria.

Many young girls face challenges in confidence, leadership, and mental resilience, compounded by societal pressures and limited access to supportive networks.

The webinar brought together global and local experts, including Olivia Darby, Michelle Ukachukwu, and Sofia Alpízar, to provide practical guidance on self-worth, financial literacy, and well-being. Participants explored how to build confidence, navigate social pressures, and develop skills for personal and professional growth. The session drew participants with 90% being girls and young women aged 13–25, and reached over 500 people through follow-up engagement.

Key insights emphasized the importance of believing in one’s value, understanding wealth as a tool for impact, and cultivating emotional and mental health as foundational to empowerment.

Discussions encouraged mentorship, community collaboration, and stepping out of comfort zones to develop leadership skills. The webinar reinforced RWI’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of confident, capable, and compassionate women.

By providing knowledge, support, and practical tools, the initiative aimed to create lasting positive change in the lives of adolescent girls and their communities.
